The squad planning for next season has already started at Bayern Munich. The Bavarian club is looking to fine-tune the list of summer transfer targets while getting clarity on the future of key players in the squad.

Bayern had made a final contract offer to Alphonso Davies last week. The Canadian full-back has just over 15 months left on the current deal. According to Sky Sports in Germany, Bayern wants Davies to decide on the new offer by the end of next week.

Die Roten have made a contract offer worth €13-14 million/per year to Davies. The Canadian left-back wants a salary worth €20 million/per year in his new contract. The Bavarian club has no plans to improve their offer, suggesting that a summer departure is likely for Davies.

Real Madrid are showing strong interest in Davies. The Spanish club has reportedly held talks with the Canadian full-back and made two contract offers. Real Madrid are ready to sign Davies in the summer for a reasonable fee or wait until the end of next season to get him on a free transfer.

Bayern do not want to lose Davies on a free transfer. As per Sky Sports, Die Roten want to get a fee close to €50-60 million for Davies. However, Real Madrid have no plans to pay a fee close to €50 million for Davies since he will enter the final year of his contract at Bayern in the summer.

Former Bayern defender David Alaba is trying to convince Davies to join Real Madrid. After enjoying success for a decade at Die Roten, Alaba left Munich in 2021 to join Real Madrid on a free transfer. The Austrian defender wants to link up with Davies at Real Madrid after playing with Davies at Bayern for two seasons.

Bayern cannot afford to lose Davies on a free transfer to one of their European rivals. The two clubs may end up agreeing on a fee that will benefit all parties. As things stand, it will take a massive turn of events for Alphonso Davies to stay in Munich beyond the current campaign.

The record Bundesliga champions have already started looking at possible replacements for Davies. AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez is the prime target for Die Roten if Davies joins Real Madrid in the summer. The recent reports in Germany have also linked Chelsea’s Ian Mattsen with Die Roten. The Dutch full-back is currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund.
