Bayern Munich have a lot of work to do in the summer transfer window to strengthen the squad after a disappointing Bundesliga campaign until now. Along with signing top-quality players, Bayern also need clarity regarding the futures of some key players. Max Eberl and Christoph Freund have been holding talks with player representatives regarding new contracts in the past few days.

Alphonso Davies and his representatives recently held talks with Die Roten over a new deal. The Canadian full-back has just over 15 months left on his current deal. It does look like Bayern have made a final contract offer to Davies amidst uncertainty around his future.

According to SportBild and Sky Sports in Germany, Bayern have made a final contract offer worth €11-13 million gross/per year to Alphonso Davies. The Canadian defender is looking for a salary closer to €20 million/per year. Bayern will not increase their offer. If Davies rejects this deal, Bayern will look to sell him in the summer.

While talking to SportBild, Max Eberl confirmed Die Roten’s intentions of not making any more improved offers to Davies. Eberl hopes to get a final decision from Davies and his camp sooner rather than later.

""I can say that we made Alphonso a very concrete, appreciative offer. At some point in life you have to say yes or no. The negotiations have been going on for a long time, but were a bit broken last summer. We are working on this topic.""

Davies has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid. The Spanish club has reportedly held discussions with his agent regarding a move in the summer or a free transfer in 2025. Eberl has insisted that there has been no contact from Real Madrid for Davies until now.

Bayern will certainly not allow Davies to run down his contract and leave as a free agent. They will look to cash in during the upcoming summer transfer window. It remains to be seen how much Real Madrid is willing to pay since Davies will have only one year left on his contract. Considering the age of Davies (23) and his quality, Bayern will try to get a significant fee for him.

The record Bundesliga champions are looking at the possible left-back options they can pursue if Davies ends up leaving Munich in the summer. AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez has been heavily linked with a move to Bavaria in the past couple of months.

Davies is not the only star that may end up leaving Bayern in the summer. Joshua Kimmich has also reportedly emerged as a candidate for sale at Die Roten during the summer transfer window. The next couple of months will be fascinating at Bayern as they gear up for a significant squad overhaul in the summer.
