Bayern Munich are currently working on the squad planning for next season. The Bavarian club is holding contract talks with players that they consider part of their long-term plans. Mathys Tel has already signed a new long-term deal with Bayern to squash speculation about his future.

The record Bundesliga champions are currently involved in talks with Alphonso Davies for a new deal. The Canadian full-back has just over 15 months left on his contract. Die Roten have reportedly made a final contract offer to Davies.

Apart from a final offer for a contract extension, Bayern have also set a deadline for Davies to make a decision. The Bavarian club will listen to offers for Davies if he doesn’t sign a new deal. The upcoming summer transfer window will be the last opportunity for Bayern to get a fee for Davies.

Die Roten’s decision to set a deadline for a final decision on the latest contract offer has not gone down well with the representatives of Davies. While talking to Bild, Nick Househ (Davies’ agent) criticised the Bavarian club for the way they have handed contract talks with the Canadian full-back.

""It's unfair that Alphonso is now being attacked. We were close to an agreement a year ago. Then the entire club management was replaced. We didn't hear anything for seven months. Although I tried during this time to contact the club myself. Now, we are being given an ultimatum and are supposed to react within two weeks because the club is under pressure and took a long time to reposition itself in the management? That's not fair.”"

Househ also insisted that it is unfair for Davies to sign a new deal without knowing who the head coach next season will be. Bayern have decided to part ways with Thomas Tuchel at the end of the season. They are currently talking to multiple coaches to fill the position before the end of the season.

After the comments from Househ, Bayern responded through Max Eberl. While talking to Sky Sports in Germany, Eberl insisted that Die Roten are not under pressure regarding the future of Davies. However, Eberl wants a decision from the Canadian full-back sooner rather than later.

Bayern have reportedly offered Davies €13-14 million/ year, but the Canadian defender is looking for a salary package closer to €20 million/year. The Bavarian club has no plans to improve their offer, making a departure of Davies from Bavaria the most likely outcome in the summer.

Real Madrid have a concrete interest in Davies. The Spanish club has reportedly held talks with Davies. The Los Blancos will try to sign Davies for a reasonable fee since he has only one year left on his contract in the summer. Meanwhile, Bayern reportedly want more than €50 million for Davies. The negotiations between the two clubs may start soon if Davies decides against signing a new deal.
