Jamal Musiala has started the season in fine form for Bayern Munich. He is the focal point of the creativity in the final third for Die Roten. Along with his start to the season, Musiala’s future at Bayern is a topic for discussion in Germany.

Musiala has less than two years left on his contract. Every big club in Europe is closely following the situation of Musiala at Bayern. Meanwhile, Die Roten are eager to avoid transfer speculation and agree on a new contract with the German attacking midfielder.

Bayern have opened talks with Musiala for a new deal. The initial discussions are positive, but there is a long way to go for a complete agreement. Die Roten would ideally like a conclusion to contract talks before the end of the season. They may have to consider a sale next summer if Musiala doesn’t agree a new deal.

The club chiefs believe Musiala can be the face of the club for the next decade. While talking to Sky Sports in Germany, former Bayern midfielder Lothar Matthäus has urged the club to break the bank to secure the future of Musiala. He believes Bayern cannot afford to keep a limit during the contract negotiations with the 21-year-old attacking midfielder.

"FC Bayern must have no limit with him (Musiala). They have to go all in and get the sponsors on board as well. Give him a lifetime contract."

Musiala wants a strong sporting project to extend his contract at Bayern. The German international has insisted that competing for big trophies every year is one of the conditions needed to extend his stay in Munich. Everything rests now on Bayern chiefs to convince Musiala that Munich is the place to fulfill his talent and ambitions.

Bayern have several contract situations to resolve in next few months

Bayern want to find the right balance of ambition and financial stability when it comes to contract renewals. While Musiala could be an exception due to his age and potential, Die Roten have several other contract issues to resolve in the coming months.

Leroy Sane and Joshua Kimmich have entered the final 12 months of their contracts. Die Roten want to keep both, but they are already among the big earners in the squad. Since the next deal will be the last big contract at the top level for Kimmich and Sane, they will look for significant wages. It will be intriguing to see how Max Eberl and Christoph Freund navigate the complex negotiations.

Alphonso Davies has also entered the final 12 months of his contract. However, his departure is more likely since Real Madrid is confident about signing him on a free transfer. Bayern will hold talks with him in the next couple of months to get complete clarity about his future.
