Bayern Munich winger subject to interest from FC Barcelona
Bayern Munich are looking to rejuvenate the squad after a stale campaign. They are ready to part ways with senior players to bring hungry young players that can help them achieve sustained success over the next few seasons. Bayern are unlikely to stand in the way of senior players that will fetch them significant transfer fees in the summer.
Kingsley Coman is one of the candidates for departure at Bayern. The French winger is open to experiencing a new adventure, while Die Roten are also ready to sanction a transfer if a club submits an adequate bid. It does look like one of the Spanish giants may make a move for him.
According to L’Equipe (via SportBild), Hansi Flick wants to sign Kingsley Coman at FC Barcelona. The German coach replaced Xavi Hernandez as the new first-team coach at the Spanish club. Flick got the best out of Coman during his time at Munich, so it is not surprising to see him pursue a move for the French winger.
However, Barcelona have financial problems to manage in the summer. They may not come up with an adequate offer for Coman. Bayern are reportedly looking at a fee close to €70 million for the French international. Die Roten have significant leverage in negotiations since Coman’s contract expires in 2027.
Manchester City and Manchester United have been linked with Coman in the past. Despite an underwhelming campaign, Coman will have several suitors in the summer if he decides to leave Bayern. The Bavarian club will hope for a bidding war to get the maximum possible fee for the French winger.
Apart from Coman, Serge Gnabry is also a candidate for sale in the attacking department at Bayern. The German winger has struggled with injuries throughout the season. He has also lacked consistency in performances over the last 18 months.
Bayern have been linked with several wide players in the past few weeks. Xavi Simons and Dani Olmo feature on their shortlist, while Stuttgart’s Chris Führich prefers a move to Bavaria over Borussia Dortmund. Die Roten will also have Bryan Zaragoza integrated into the squad next season, while Mathys Tel is expected to play regularly. An exit for Coman or Gnabry will pave the way for Bayern to sign a new winger.
Along with signing a wide player, Die Roten want to strengthen the attack by signing a striker. They parted ways with Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting at the end of the season. Bayern will look to bring a number nine that can manage the workload of Harry Kane.
