After last weekend’s defeat against Heidenheim, Max Eberl admitted that several changes will take place at Bayern Munich in the summer. The Bavarian club is currently 16 points behind league leaders Bayer Leverkusen. Xabi Alonso’s team can win the Bundesliga title with a victory against Werder Bremen on Sunday.

Bayern chiefs are ready to make tough decisions in the summer to complete a squad overhaul. The Bavarian club is currently holding contract talks with players who have just over 12 months left on their contracts. Die Roten will look to replenish the squad by using the funds raised by the sales of senior players.

Kingsley Coman could be one of the senior players that may end up leaving Bayern in the summer. According to SportBild’s Tobian Altschaffl (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern will be open to hold talks with clubs that are ready to pay a significant fee for Coman. The French forward is also open to experiencing a new challenge in either Spain or England.

Coman has been one of the consistent wide players for Bayern in the past few seasons. After years of frustration with injuries, things started changing for Coman when he scored the winner for Die Roten in the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain in 2020. Coman has achieved consistency in performances under different coaches in the last four years.

The French forward had troubles with injuries this season, but he has chipped in with five goals and three assists in 23 appearances. His current deal at Bayern expires in 2027, allowing Bayern to demand a significant fee. SportBild reports that offers close to €70 million may convince Die Roten to sell the French forward.

Manchester City and Manchester United have previously shown interest in signing Coman. If the French forward decides to leave Bayern in the summer, more big European clubs will show interest in him. Coman’s decision will also depend on who replaces Thomas Tuchel in the summer.

Meanwhile, Bayern are expected to hold further contract talks with Leroy Sane. Both parties want a contract renewal, so it is a matter of finding an agreement on the wages and other details of the new deal. Sane has consistently hinted that he feels settled in Munich.

The future of Serge Gnabry is uncertain despite his return to form in the past few weeks. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting looks certain to leave in the summer on a free transfer. It will be an intriguing summer for Bayern since they may end up strengthening all three departments of the squad.
