After a mixed summer transfer window, Bayern Munich chiefs have a lot of work to do during the season. The Bavarian club needs to extend the contracts of several senior players. They need to get clarity about the futures of several players to plan accordingly for the future transfer windows.

According to Kicker (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern want to get clarity about the futures of Leroy Sane, Joshua Kimmich, and Alphonso Davies by winter. All three players have less than 12 months left on their current deals, making their renewals an urgent need for Bayern.

Joshua Kimmich has opened the door for signing a new contract at Bayern after 12 months of intense speculation about his future. Die Roten are also open to offering a new deal to Kimmich despite showing willingness to listen to offers for him in the summer. The negotiations will be complex since Kimmich is already one of the big earners in the squad, but the willingness of both parties to find common ground bodes well for a full agreement.

Leroy Sane is also open to staying in Munich. Bayern will reportedly meet the agents of Sane to find an agreement after holding positive initial talks in April. The financial aspect of the new deal needs to satisfy both parties.

The situation of Alphonso Davies is tricky. Bayern decided against offering him improved contract terms in the summer. Real Madrid are reportedly confident about signing Davies on a free transfer next summer. It will take a significant turn of events for Davies to play in the Bavarian colours next season.

Manuel Neuer and Thomas Muller in no rush to settle future

Kicker also reports that Manuel Neuer and Thomas Muller will take their time to assess the future at Bayern. The two veterans are focussing on club football after announcing their retirement from international football. Bayern are pleased with their performances, but talks over another extension may take place during the second half of the season.

Muller and Neuer have less than 12 months left on their contracts. Both are more than good enough to play at the top level for a couple of years. It will all come down to their desire to continue in Munich.

The biggest contract discussion for Bayern remains Jamal Musiala. The youngster has a contract at Die Roten until 2026. The Bavarian club wants to fend off interest from other big European clubs by handing a new long-term deal to Musiala. Bayern will hold talks with Musiala’s representatives in the coming weeks. Max Eberl and Christoph Freund will be heavily judged by the way they handle several contract negotiations in the coming months.
