Bayern Munich set to hold contract talks with German stars in coming weeks
The international break again highlighted the quality of Jamal Musiala as he delivered two good performances for Germany. Musiala has enjoyed an excellent start to the season with Bayern and Germany.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has entered the final two years of his contract. Bayern are eager to extend his contract amidst significant interest from several top clubs across Europe. Die Roten want Musiala to be part of the squad’s spine for the next decade.
According to SportBild, Bayern will hold further contract talks with the representatives of Musiala later this month. Max Eberl has already indicated in preliminary talks that Die Roten are eager to hand a new long-term deal to Musiala.
The German international has been calm about his future at Bayern. Musiala has already opened up about the sporting conditions that need to be satisfied for him to sign a new deal. The 21-year-old wants Bayern to compete for big trophies every season. He is desperate to win the Champions League title since he has yet to taste success with Die Roten in the European competition.
Bayern will also hold contract talks with Leroy Sane alongside Musiala
Alongside Musiala, SportBild is also reporting that Bayern will hold talks with Sane for a new contract in September. Sane and Musiala are represented by agency 11Wins. The German winger has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Die Roten.
Eberl has already held productive talks with Sane’s representatives last season. The German winger is content with life in Munich and is open to signing a new contract. Bayern also want to keep Sane beyond this season. The Bavarian club wanted to retain Sane amidst the squad overhaul in the summer. They were open to selling Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman over Sane in the summer. Sane had reportedly rejected a move to FC Barcelona in 2023 to stay in Munich.
The 28-year-old forward is one of the top earners at Bayern. The Bavarian club will look to make sure the new renewal for Sane makes financial sense for them. It remains to be seen if Sane will look to take a financial hit in what could be the last big contract of his career.
Sane is yet to play for Bayern this season. The German winger got surgery during the summer to resolve the groin injury that troubled him during the Euros and the second half of last season. Sane is expected to return to action this month after missing the pre-season with Die Roten.
