Bayern Munich has been working on numerous contract renewals in the last 12 months. They have found success in most negotiations apart from the talks with Niklas Sule. The German defender will be joining Borussia Dortmund at the end of June on a free transfer. After Sule, Die Roten is now also expected to face a disappointing outcome from contract talks with Serge Gnabry.

According to Bild (via iMiaSanMia), Gnabry has rejected the improved contract offered by Bayern. The contract offer submitted by Rekordmeister was worth €19 million/year. As things stand, Gnabry could walk as a free agent at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

Meanwhile, Sport1 reports that Gnabry plans to stay at Bayern despite rejecting the latest contract proposal. The German winger is in no rush to make a decision regarding his future, and he would prefer running down his deal to have more options next year.

It has been widely reported in Germany that Bayern has no plans to allow Gnabry to leave on a free transfer. The Bavarian club may try to get a fee for him this summer if there is no definite answer from the German winger.

Arsenal and Real Madrid have been heavily linked with Gnabry. More clubs could join the race if Bayern decides to cash in this summer. The Bavarian club will most likely reinvest the fee attained from Gnabry’s departure to strengthen the attack.

Earlier this week, Gnabry refused to give an update regarding his future while talking at a press conference for the German national team. Things are likely to be clear once the Nations League games are done by mid-June. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer remains optimistic about an agreement with Gnabry.

The Bavarian faithful will be hoping that an agreement is reached between Bayern and Gnabry. The German club will most likely lose Robert Lewandowski in the summer, so the departure of Serge Gnabry will make it two big voids in the first team’s attack. Die Roten has been linked with players such as Ajax’s Antony and RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku as Gnabry’s replacement. Both wide players will cost a significant fee, so Die Roten will need some sort of transfer fee from Gnabry’s departure if he doesn’t sign a contract in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, the German Champions are working on deals for Sadio Mane and Sasa Kalajdzic. The two forwards will most likely fill the void left by Lewandowski. Considering the incredible output of the Polish striker in the past few players, it will need two players to replace him. The club hierarchy will be hoping that they will not have to sign one more forward in the summer to replace Serge Gnabry.
