The summer transfer window was expected to be dominated by Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid. However, the French winger made a sensational u-turn to stay at Paris Saint- Germain. Mbappe’s decision to stay in Paris could have an impact on the future of one player at Bayern Munich.

According to Bild, Real Madrid could turn their attention towards signing Serge Gnabry from Bayern in the summer. The German media outlet insists that Die Roten will most likely ask for €40 million for Gnabry.

Along with Real Madrid, Arsenal has also been linked with a move for Gnabry. However, the lack of Champions League football for Arsenal next season significantly reduces the chances of Gnabry returning to North London. Since the reported price for Gnabry is not exorbitant, more top clubs will show interest in the winger.

The Bavarian club will be forced to listen to offers for Gnabry since he is entering the final year of his current deal. The German winger is yet to accept/reject Rekordmeister’s improved offer. The German Champions cannot wait long for his decision, or they will risk losing him for nothing next summer.

Serge Gnabry has been in talks with Die Roten regarding a new deal since the start of the season. It was expected to be straightforward negotiations since Gnabry was settled in Bavaria. However, talks kept on dragging as Gnabry is reportedly looking for parity in wages with the likes of Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sane. Die Roten doesn’t seem to agree with the wage demands of the German winger.

The long-drawn contract talks reportedly affected Gnabry’s performances on the pitch. However, he ended the season strongly. The German winger continues to contribute with 10+ goals in the Bundesliga every season. He has also enjoyed a good goal-scoring record with the Bavarian club in the Champions League.

Bayern recently lost David Alaba on a free transfer. However, they cannot afford Gnabry to leave on a free transfer. The Bavarian club has suffered significant losses in the last two years due to the pandemic, so they need money from player sales to strengthen the squad in the summer.

Die Roten will ideally like to know the final decision from Gnabry in the coming weeks. The Bavarian club may need to add three do wards if Gnabry ends up leaving. The German Champions are already working on deals for Sasa Kalajdzic and Sadio Mane as potential replacements for Robert Lewandowski. Die Roten will need another wide player to replace Gnabry. The coming weeks are likely to be decisive for Gnabry’s future and Bayern’s squad planning for next season.
