The summer transfer window will see yet another senior player leaving Bayern Munich on a free transfer. Niklas Sule has rejected a contract offer from Die Roten as he is set to explore a new adventure. It could become two players leaving on a free transfer if Corentin Tolisso also decides against signing a new deal.

Tolisso will be in demand due to his style of play and the fact that he still has many years left in his peak. According to AS, Real Madrid has also joined the list of admirers of Tolisso. The Spanish club is interested in bringing Tolisso to Santiago Bernabeu.

The former Lyon midfielder will become the second Bayern player in as many years to join Real Madrid if the Spanish club manages to sign him. David Alaba arrived in the Spanish capital last summer after running down his contract in Bavaria.

The Spanish media outlet is also reporting that Die Roten has opened contract talks with Tolisso. It looked certain in the last 12 months that Tolisso will be leaving Bavaria in 2022, but Julian Nagelsmann is eager to keep the French midfielder. The French international has been in fine form under Nagelsmann this season.

Apart from a change in the club’s stance, Tolisso is also reportedly open to extending his stay in Bavaria. However, both parties have very little time to conclude the negotiations as there are only four months left for the conclusion of the season.

Giving Corentin Tolisso a new long-term deal remains a big risk for Die Roten. There are no second thoughts regarding the French midfielder’s ability. However, his fitness record has been poor ever since returning from the devastating ACL injury he suffered in 2018. He has missed 49 games due to injury since recovering from a cruciate ligament injury in 2019. Committing a significant financial outlay on a player that misses 16 games every year is not exactly a wise decision. (Stats courtesy: Transfermarkt)

Corentin Tolisso has fared well whenever he has gone a run of games under his belt. The next one month or so could be crucial in terms of his long-term future in Bavaria. If he continues to perform well, then Nagelsmann could further push for his renewal.

On the other hand, if a contract renewal is not sorted, then Tolisso will be one of the most sought out players in Europe during the summer transfer window. Along with Real Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan, and Atletico Madrid have been linked with a move for Tolisso.
