Jupp Heynckes’ best games at Bayern Munich in treble season
Biggest win of the season
Die Roten had been losing the title to Borussia Dortmund at the start of the last decade. The club responded strongly in 2012/13 by clinching the title with 29 wins in the league. They suffered defeat only once in the league despite their wobbly form in other competitions.
Under Heynckes, Bayern dug deep for victories whenever things were not going their way in the Bundesliga. However, they were ruthless and punished several German teams on the pitch during that season. With league title in sight, Die Roten delivered their best league performance in March.

Bayern hosted Hamburg in Matchday 27 of the Bundesliga. It was a lighting start to the game as they opened the scoring in 5th minute and raced to a 5-0 lead before half-time. They almost doubled their goal tally in the second half, ending the game with a 9-2 scoreline in their favour.
The win against Hamburg epitomised Die Roten’s approach and intensity under Heynckes during the 2012/13 season. His team never let the foot off the pedal when they were dominating the opponent and always went for the kill. He got every player fighting for him, and it was not a surprise that Claudio Pizzaro scored four goals against Hamburg, the third choice striker at the club.
