The resumption of the Bundesliga after the first international break didn’t go as planned for Bayern Munich. They dropped two points against Bayer Leverkusen by conceding an equalizer in added time on Friday. Bayern will look to bounce back from this mini-setback in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Champions League game at Allianz Arena on Wednesday is special as Bayern host Manchester United. The two historic clubs have played some of the memorable games in the European competition over the years. This will be Die Roten’s first competitive game against Manchester United since 2013.

Thomas Tuchel has received an injury boost ahead of Wednesday’s blockbuster clash. Kingsley Coman is expected to be fit for the game against the Red Devils, as per Bild (via iMiaSanMia). The French winger was not in the squad against Bayer Leverkusen due to a muscle injury.

Bild spotted Kingsley Coman training at Sabner Strasse on Saturday. The French international was doing light running, but it does look like he will be fit for Wednesday’s game. It remains to be seen if the 27-year-old winger will be fit enough to start against Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Jamal Musiala is expected to start on Wednesday. The young attacking midfielder has been out for three weeks due to a minor injury. However, Musiala recovered in time for the clash against Bayer Leverkusen. He came off the bench on Friday, so the next step is to start for Bayern.

Joshua Kimmich also played only 60 minutes against Leverkusen since he was carrying a minor injury. The 28-year-old midfielder sat out of Germany’s 2-1 win against France during the international break due to this injury. Tuchel confirmed that the medical team had advised only 60 minutes of action on Friday. The playing time is likely to increase for the German midfielder against Manchester United.

Tuchel will definitely make a few changes to the starting XI on Wednesday. Matthijs de Ligt may get a chance in the team after getting minutes from the bench this season. Noussair Mazraoui may start in the right-back position after starting on the bench against Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayern clinched a comfortable 3-1 victory the last time they faced Manchester United at Allianz Arena in 2014. The Red Devils have endured a difficult start to the campaign, but they can certainly challenge Die Roten on Wednesday due to the quality of their squad. It will be an exciting game, which gives Die Roten to set the tone for their Champions League campaign.
