Dominating Barcelona at Camp Nou

Bayern stunned Barcelona at Allianz Arena during the first leg of the semifinals in the Champions League by clinching a 4-0 victory. The Spanish club was the best team in the world at that time, playing a mindblowing style of football, making them a team to beat in Europe.

Such was the aura of that Barcelona team that they could have mounted a comeback in the return leg. However, Heynckes had different plans to seal a place in the finals. The German club went to the hostile territory and completely shut off a lethal Barca attack.

Apart from dominating the midfield and defensive departments, Die Roten showed a ruthless edge in the final third. They were able to slot three goals past Victor Valdes to book their place in finals. Along with scoring vital away goals, Die Roten also managed to come back home with a clean sheet at Camp Nou.

Heynckes showed his experience by coming up with a perfect tactical plan to get the better of a Barcelona side that dominated opposition and tore defense apart with their precise passing. Beating Barcelona with an aggregate 7-0 scoreline is surely the best performance from a Bayern side in a two-legged tie.
