Alphonso Davies’ best moments at Bayern Munich
First goal in Bavarian colours
Davies was the most expensive MLS player when Die Roten had concluded the deal. With such a price stag, comes an added pressure. The German club didn’t allow to put any pressure on the Canadian winger and slowly eased him into the first team.
The former Vancouver Whitecaps winger will never forget March 17, 2019. Davies had been getting chances here and there till that time, but he was yet to open his account for Die Roten. The game against Mainz on March 17.

After coming on as a substitute in the second half, Davies rounded off Rekordmeister’s performance by scoring the sixth goal of the game. It was not exactly a worldie by the Canadian winger. Robert Lewandowski had a ferocious shot saved by Florian Muller, but the goalkeeper had punched the ball back in the danger zone. Davies showed great awareness to pounce on the loose ball and slot it in the back of the net.
Getting the first goal out of the way would have been a special feeling for the young forward. Scoring it in front of the home fans make it even more. He is unlikely to score many if Die Roten decides to permanently play him in the left-back position, so the first goal for the club will always be special.
