Training with stars at Bayern

Bayern fended off competition from various top European clubs in 2018 to clinch the transfer of Davies from Vancouver Whitecaps. However, they had to wait six months before welcoming Davies at the club as per the conditions of the deal.

Davies can become an inspiration for upcoming young footballers, considering the tough path he followed to reach the top. The teenager’s parents left Liberia during the civil war and migrated to Canada, where Davies developed as a footballer.

In an interview with BBC in October, a clipping of young Davies talking about his goals in football was shown. He wanted to make it at professional football and play with the best players in the world. Davies made it as professional in Canada, but the move to Bayern was his ticket to become a global superstar.

After arriving in January 2019, training with stars such as Robert Lewandowski, Arjen Robben, and Franck Ribery would have been a dream come true for Davies. He is on track to become one of the best players of his generation, but the first training session with stars at Bayern is likely to hold a special place in the heart. A moment to saviour for that young Davies who was firm about succeeding at the top level in football.
