Report: Bayern Munich remain interested in AS Roma’s Cengiz Under
Bayern Munich reportedly considers AS Roma’s Cengiz Under as one of the key transfer targets in attacking position.
Bayern Munich is patiently waiting to complete the transfer as a winger remains the utmost priority for the German club this summer. The club chiefs have assured the fans that Bayern will definitely make more signings and the first team squad will be stronger than last season.
The German club has two key prime transfer targets in Ousmane Dembele and Leroy Sane for this position. However, the deals for these players are complicated and might also depend on the other big transfers in this window. AS Roma’s Cengiz Under is the latest player that has emerged as a possible attacking signing for the Bundesliga champions. According to Sky Sports’ Gianluca Di Marzio, Under is the player that Bayern will approach if they fail to sign Sane or Dembele. There has been no mention of talks between the two clubs in this report but Die Roten has a strong interest in the Turkey international.

Under has been previously linked with Bayern but there has been nothing concrete reported on that front in the past few months. The player’s agent had also confirmed that Bayern is interested in the 21-year-old winger. The Turkey international has been attracting interest from numerous European clubs with his impressive performances for AS Roma.
AS Roma has mainly used Under on the right flank last season, but he can operate at a good level on the left side of the attack. His output in the final third was impressive considering the amount of gametime he got at the Italian club last season. Under ended the campaign with three goals and seven assists in 19 appearances across all competitions.
Under is also slowly becoming a key player for his national team. He will not be an expensive option for Bayern. On the other hand, Ousmane Dembele and Leroy Sane would be sold for nine-figure fees. There is a difference in the quality of Under and these two players, but the Turkish winger has the potential to become a top-class winger in the next few years.
