Thiago Alcantara heaps praise on Bayern Munich target Ousmane Dembele
The Spanish midfielder believes that Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele will be a great addition to the Bayern Munich squad.
Bayern Munich is actively looking to sign a winger in this summer transfer window. Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery have already left the club, so it becomes essential for Bayern to sign at least one top-class winger. The German champions have been linked with numerous wingers in the last twelve months.
Manchester City’s Leroy Sane has been widely reported as the prime target for the Bundesliga Champions. The deal to complete the transfer of 23-year-old winger is complicated. It will take a massive effort from all parties to complete this transfer.
Bayern has reportedly started looking at the alternatives for Sane. Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele is one of the few players the German club might try to sign if Sane decides to stay at Man City. Thiago Alcantara has given his opinion on these reports linking Dembele to Bayern. Speaking to Bild (via Goal), the Spaniard insisted that Dembele is a top player and can be a vital addition to Bayern’s depleted attack.
"“Dembele is a great player. But I am not the sporting director who decides if a player will be bought or not.“As a football player and one who played against him I can say: He is a very good footballer. I would like to play with all the great players who would love to come to Bayern.”"

The deal to complete the signing of Dembele is also complicated. Barcelona might decide to sell the French winger if they manage to pull off the double signings of Neymar Jr and Antoine Griezmann. Dembele’s previous experience in the Bundesliga makes him the ideal signing for Die Roten.
Thiago also added that Bayern will need more signings this summer due to the departures of numerous senior players. The German champions have till now made three signings for next season. Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard will provide the stability to defense while Jann Fiete Arp will be an interesting option in attack.
The Spanish midfielder reported for the pre-season training on Monday. He is likely to be a key player for Niko Kovac next season. Thiago completed a fantastic u-turn from last summer as the German club was eager to sell him. He eventually ended up staying at the club due to lack of offers and established himself as the first choice midfielder under the Croatian manager.
