Report: Lucas Vazquez emerges as a transfer target for Bayern Munich
Lucas Vazquez has reportedly emerged as a summer transfer target for Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich is yet to make a breakthrough in their pursuit of signing a world-class forward. The Bundesliga club has been linked with numerous forwards in the past one year. Die Roten has been planning for this overhaul since the departures of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery were evident from the start of 2018/19 season.
The German champions have declared their interest in signing Leroy Sane from Manchester City. However, the deal to bring the German winger back to Bundesliga is complicated and the player is reportedly eager to continue in Premier League. Earlier this week, Franck Ribery also urged his former club to do everything possible to clinch the signing of Sane.
There have been numerous reports in Germany suggesting that Bayern is looking at other wingers as the chances of completing a deal for Sane are slim. Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez is the latest winger that has emerged an alternative transfer target for Bayern.

According to AS, Bayern Munich are interested in signing Vazquez. This Spanish outlet further added that Arsenal has initiated talks with Real Madrid for the 28-year-old winger. Paris Saint Germain and Inter Milan are the other major European clubs that have registered interest in the Spanish winger.
Real Madrid is eager to cash in for Vazquez as he is unlikely to get the desired amount of gametime at Santiago Bernabeu next season. The SportBild in Germany has also confirmed Bayern’s interest in Vazquez. This report insists that Die Roten like the player but he is not their main priority right now. Vazquez is likely to be way below in the list of wingers for Bayern.
Vazquez has been a very good squad player at Real Madrid. He delivered some clutch performances during the club’s three consecutive Champions League wins. However, his productivity in the final third is not up to the mark and it will be a massive gamble from the German champions if they make him as their forward signing this summer.
Die Roten have also been heavily linked with Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele in the past couple of weeks. The likes of Dembele and Sane are exactly the type of winger Bayern need right now. Vazquez’s signing will make sense only if Die Roten wants to add two forwards this summer. There are still better alternatives that Vazquez in the current transfer market, so it will be a huge surprise if Bayern pays a big fee for the Spaniard.
