Werder Bremen eyeing loan deal for Bayern youngster Paul Wanner

Interest is intensifying in talented Bayern Munich youngster Paul Wanner, with Werder Bremen looking to sign him on loan with an option to make the signing permanent.

Paul Wanner is coming off an impressive loan spell with SV Elversberg, and scored six goals and assisted a further four in the recently concluded 2. Bundesliga season. The 18 year old is expected to leave Bayern Munich on loan again this summer, and a number of clubs are said to be interested.

PSV Eindhoven and Borussia Mönchengladbach have both been linked with a move for Wanner in recent weeks. And BILD are now claiming Werder Bremen would like to sign the attacking midfielder on an initial loan deal with a purchase option. Bremen seemingly do not want to be a training station for the player, and would like to keep him beyond the end of the season.

It remains to be seen what Bayern Munich's plans are with Wanner, and whether they would be option to letting him leave on a loan deal with a purchase option. The prospect of consistent playing time will likely be key in determining the youngster's next destination.

Paul Wanner has made eight first-team appearances for Bayern Munich, having risen through the club's youth team ranks. He is rated very highly at Bayern, and has been tipped to be a regular starter for the club in the future. But for the comign season, his aim will be to get top flight experience under his belt, either in the Bundesliga or elsewhere.
