Three wingers Bayern Munich should consider signing this summer
By Tushar Bahl
The Bayern Munich attack was blunted at times this season due to various injuries and the fact that several key players were out of form at important phases of the season. Max Eberl and Christoph Freund are set to freshen up the Bayern attack this summer, and it will be interesting to see who they end up signing.
A number of wingers have been linked with a move to Bayern Munich in recent weeks. And here we take a look at three players the Bayern bosses should look to target.
Johan Bakayoko
On the back of his excellent season with PSV Eindhoven, Johan Bakayoko is set to be in high demand this summer. A number of big clubs are interested in signing him, although Bayern's hopes could be boosted if the talented winger's compatriot Vincent Kompany becomes the club's next head coach as expected.
Bakayoko scored 14 goals and assisted a further 14 as PSV won the Eredivisie title this season. He is primarily a right winger, and is known for his ability to take on defenders. He likes to draw defenders out of position with his quick pace, acceleration, and unpredictability; and is also adept at both chance-creation and goal scoring.
At the age of 21, Bakayoko is by no means the finished product. But he has the potential to become one of the top wingers in world football, and Bayern Munich could be the perfect stage for him to develop into a superstar.
