Leroy Sané has set his sights on winning the Bundesliga title this season, and is also keen to lift the DFB-Pokal and the UEFA Champions League with Bayern Munich.

Currently recovering from the groin issue that bothered him for much of the second half of last season and the European Championship, Leroy Sané feels that he is on the right track and is gearing up to make his return to action with Bayern Munich after the international break.

The 28 year old could have a key role to play for Bayern this season, especially once the UEFA Champions League gets underway and games come by thick and fast.

Sané is looking forward to working with former teammate Vincent Kompany again, and also has high aims for this season. "We definitely have to win the Bundesliga title again. But a very big goal is also to win the DFB-Pokal. I haven't won that with Bayern yet, so it's right at the top of my list - and of course the Champions League!"

"Vincent Kompany has a great charisma" - Leroy Sané

The winger also heaped praise on Vincent Kompany, who has started his spell as Bayern Munich head coach with three straight wins. "I was really happy when I met him again for the first time. He's a great person. I've also seen how well he manages training. The coaches all have great energy, Vincent Kompany has a great charisma," Sané said in an interview with Bayern Munich's official website.

Leroy Sané showcased his exemplary skill and quality during the first half of last season. But after struggling for form and fitness for much of the second half of the campaign, he will have his sights set on becoming a difference maker for club and country again as he closes in on his return to action.
