Bayern Munich have been busy in strengthening the squad during the last couple of weeks. They completed a deal for Hiroki Ito to improve their options in central defense. Bayern are also working on two more deals to strengthen defense and midfield.

After completing the bulk of their transfer business, Bayern will focus on outgoings. Leon Goretzka is one of the players who are on the list of departures. The Bavarian club is ready to sell Goretzka if adequate offers come in this summer. However, the German midfielder has a different view about his future.

According to AZ (via iMiaSanMia), Goretzka is determined to stay at Bayern. He has no interest in listening to offers this summer. The German midfielder is ready to fight for his place in the team. Vincent Kompany will talk to Goretzka when the German midfielder reports to pre-season training to give him more clarity about his role in the squad.

Bayern have moved forward from the midfield pairing of Joshua Kimmich and Goretzka. Kimmich remained a key player for Thomas Tuchel, but Goretzka was not the first-choice midfielder for the German coach. Goretzka delivered good performances whenever Tuchel offered him a place in the starting XI and ended the campaign strongly.

There will be significant competition in the midfield department next season. Bayern are looking to complete a deal for Joao Palhinha for the defensive midfield position. Konrad Laimer and Aleksandar Pavlovic will fight for the second midfield spot. Goretzka may have to weigh up his options if Kompany doesn’t assure him adequate playing time.

Goretzka has been linked with Juventus during Ruckrunde, while Manchester United have closely followed his situation in the past. The German international will not be short of options if he decides to leave Munich.

Things will be clearer once Goretzka reports for the pre-season training in July. Bayern will be content with cashing in for Goretzka since he is no longer the first-choice midfield option, and he is one of the big earners in the squad. This summer is an ideal time for Bayern to get a considerable fee for Goretzka since his contract expires in 2026.

Bayern are also open to parting ways with Joshua Kimmich. They will sit down with Kimmich after the Euros to find a solution for his future. Kimmich has one year left on his contract. Paris Saint-Germain, FC Barcelona, and Manchester City are interested in the German midfielder.
