Didi Hamann believes that Bayern Munich must turn the tide quickly, otherwise they could fall further behind Bayer Leverkusen next season.

Bayern Munich ended their disappointing campaign in grim fashion on Saturday, as they let a two-goal lead slip and fell to a 4-2 defeat to TSG Hoffenheim. The result saw the Bavarians drop behind Stuttgart to third place in the Bundesliga standings.

Troubles are mounting off the pitch as well, with a new head coach still not in sight. Those in charge have tried to preach calm. But after the club's failure to lure the likes of Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, Ralf Rangnick and Thomas Tuchel, fans are starting to worry about what the future might look like.

The pressure is certainly mounting on those in charge at Bayern Munich, and Didi Hamann has sent out a warning going into the off-season. The former Bayern, Liverpool and Manchester City player believes that the Bavarians have it all to do as they look to try and compete for the top honors next season.

"They are showing a catastrophic face on and off the pitch," Hamann said on Sky Sport. "Leverkusen will be the favorites for the Bundesliga title next year. If Bayern don't manage to do a 180-degree turn and become more united, not just the team, but also the club and coach, then I wouldn't be surprised if the gap to Leverkusen is just as big next year."

This is Bayern Munich's first season without a trophy in 12 years. And those in charge have their task cut out as they look to get the club back on track.
