Chris Fuhrich prefers a move to Bayern Munich in summer
Bayern Munich will go all out in the summer to overhaul various departments of the squad. The attacking department will also see some reshuffling as Bayern are ready to listen to offers for a couple of senior wide players.
In terms of strengthening the attack, Bayern reportedly have a concrete interest in VfB Stuttgart’s Chris Fuhrich. The 26-year-old forward is also subject to interest from Borussia Dortmund and other Bundesliga clubs.
According to SportBild, Fuhrich is ready to prioritize a move to Bayern over other clubs if the record Bundesliga champions make an offer for him. The Bavarian club can activate the release clause worth €23.5 million in Fuhrich’s contract when the summer transfer window opens in June.
Fuhrich has been one of the top performers for Stuttgart this season. He can play across all three positions behind the striker, making him a tactically flexible player. The German forward has seven goals and seven assists in 29 Bundesliga appearances this season. Bayern currently have a plethora of options in the wide positions. They also strengthened this position by signing Bryan Zaragoza in January. The Spanish wide player is yet to start a game for Die Roten due to competition in the attack.
The signing of Fuhrich will make sense for Bayern if they end up selling one of their senior wingers. Kingsley Coman is reportedly open to exploring a new adventure in his career. Bayern are open to selling him in the summer if a club comes up with an offer close to €70 million.
Serge Gnabry is another candidate for sale at Bayern. The German winger feels settled in Munich, but the Bavarian club is open to listening to offers for him in the summer. Fuhrich’s transfer to Bayern may happen if Gnabry or Coman leave in the summer. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting will certainly leave Bayern in the summer as his contract expires at the end of the season.
Leroy Sane’s future also needs sorting by the end of the season as he enters the last 12 months of his contract. The German winger wants to stay in Munich, while the club also wants to extend his contract. The outcome of talks with several senior wide players in the squad will affect Die Roten’s pursuit of Fuhrich.
