It has been a difficult season for Bayern Munich. They have not lost many games, but the manner and timing of defeats have troubled them in the Bundesliga. With eight league games left in the Bundesliga, Bayern find themselves ten points behind league leaders Bayer Leverkusen. It will take a miraculous turn of events for Die Roten to retain the Bundesliga title.

Amidst the inconsistent results on the pitch, the Bavarian faithful have something to cheer about with the emergence of Aleksandar Pavlovic. The 19-year-old midfielder has been the shining light for Rekordmeister this season with his consistent performances.

Pavlovic has formed a strong midfield partnership with Leon Goretzka in the last few weeks. His first Champions League start came in a must-win game against Lazio. Pavlovic ran the show in central midfield against Lazio to help Die Roten clinch a comfortable 3-0 victory.

Pavlovic has filled the number six position to good effect under Thomas Tuchel. The youngster is nailed on to start several games during the season's last two months. While talking to SID (via iMiaSanMia), Karl-Heinz Rummenigge expressed his happiness after witnessing the seamless transition of Pavlovic from youth academy to the first team.

"“We're happy that after a long, long time we have a player who grew up at the FC Bayern Campus and who has developed so outstandingly this season. We're having a lot of fun with the young lad I think he still has a great chance of being part of the Euros squad. He is a player who fits this midfield quite well.""

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge on Pavlovic

The 19-year-old midfielder has already made 15 appearances for Bayern this season, which includes starts in some of the big games in the Bundesliga. He has shown great composure and temperament in these games to help Die Roten control the tempo of the play in the center of the park.

Along with boasting good passing accuracy, Pavlovic is equally good out of possession. He works hard to win the possession. The youngster also has a good knack for playing killer passes in the final third. Pavlovic rounds off his good qualities as a midfielder by showing good accuracy from set-pieces.

Pavlovic’s good performances for Bayern led to a senior call-up for the German national team. The teenager was in line for his debut for Germany this week, but a tonsilitis problem forced him to withdraw from the squad.

Bayern and Tuchel would hope to see Pavlovic fit for next weekend’s Bundesliga clash against Borussia Dortmund. The young midfielder is expected to play a crucial role for Die Roten in the final phase of the season. If he maintains consistency in his performances, Pavlovic may become the first name on the team sheet for Die Roten in midfield from next season.
