Bayern Munich want to keep Arijon Ibrahimovic for next season
Bayern Munich have enjoyed great success integrating young players from Campus into the first team. Jamal Musiala made his debut under Hansi Flick in 2020 and became a crucial player for the first team. He is currently one of the first names in the starting XI for Bayern and Germany.
The Bavarian club also had success with Josip Stanisic and Aleksandar Pavlovic. Stanisic was a good utility player under Julian Nagelsmann before going out on loan to Bayer Leverkusen last summer. After a successful stint at Leverkusen, Bayern have Stanisic in plans for next season. Meanwhile, Pavlovic had a terrific debut season, which saw him start at Santiago Bernabeu in the Champions League semi-final.
After appointing Christoph Freund last summer, Bayern wanted to focus on integrating young players into the first team. They are planning to give more opportunities to players who did well at the youth level and excelled during their loan spells last season.
According to Kicker, Arijon Ibrahimovic is part of Bayern’s plans for next season after a successful loan spell at Frosinone. The Italian club had the option of signing Ibrahimovic permanently, but Bayern had no plans to sell him this summer. Die Roten are planning to give him game time with the first team instead of loaning him out again for one more season.
Ibrahimovic made 16 appearances for the Italian club last season. Even though Ibrahimovic chipped in with only two goal contributions, his overall performances were impressive. He can play on either flank or operate as an attacking midfielder. (Stats courtesy: Whoscored)
The teenager’s contract at Bayern expires in 2025. The Bavarian club may look to extend Ibrahimovic’s contract to protect his value. There is intense competition in the attack at Bayern, but the squad overhaul plans can provide young players with crucial playing time next season.
Ibrahimovic will be part of the squad that will go on the pre-season tour. Impressing Vincent Kompany can boost his chances of getting game time at the start of the season and eventually build on it to become an established first-team player at Bayern.
Meanwhile, Bayern have plans to send Paul Wanner out on loan for next season. The young attacking midfielder had a good loan spell in the second division. Bayern want him to play at the top level next season with the plan to include him in the first team for the 2025/26 campaign. PSV Eindhoven and several Bundesliga clubs have shown interest in signing Wanner.
