Bayern Munich interested in signing Brajan Gruda from Mainz
Along with strengthening the squad with senior players, Bayern Munich also want to sign the finest young talents this summer. They have been recruiting some of the exciting young players under the leadership of Christoph Freund in the last nine months.
Bayern have been negotiating with Schalke for Assan Ouédraogo. They are favourites to clinch the signing of the exciting German midfielder by beating RB Leipzig. Along with Ouédraogo, Die Roten are also showing interest in another young German talent.
According to Sky Sports in Germany (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern have a concrete interest in Mainz’s Brajan Gruda. The young attacking midfielder shone for Mainz in the Bundesliga last season, racking up 28 league appearances. He also chipped in with four goals and three assists for Mainz in the Bundesliga. Gruda has been training with the German national team in the last few days since a few senior players are yet to report for the Euro camp due to club commitments. The 20-year-old will soon make his debut for Germany if he takes rapid strides in his development like he did this season.
Mainz can demand a significant fee for Gruda since he has two years left on his contract. Bayern will not spend heavily on him since they have several areas to address this summer. The youngster may become a much more feasible option for Bayern next summer.
From Gruda’s perspective, staying at Mainz for one more season will not be more beneficial than moving to Bayern. He will get consistent game time at Mainz next season. Bayern have several options in the attacking midfield position. At this stage of his career, Gruda needs to play regularly to continue his development.
Meanwhile, Bayern’s highly-rated attacking midfielder Paul Wanner is attracting significant interest from several Bundesliga clubs. PSV Eindhoven have also shown concrete interest in Wanner. Die Roten want to send Wanner on loan for one more season. They expect him to be part of the first team when he returns to Bavaria in 2025.
The Bavarian club is also expected to arrange a loan move for Lovro Zvonarek. The youngster made his debut for Bayern in the penultimate league game of the season. As per Sky Sports, Bayern are counting on Zvonarek in the future. They are hoping to arrange a loan move for him after the pre-season tour. Die Roten enjoyed productive results from the loan system last summer. They will hope to achieve similar results for the likes of Zvonarek and Wanner during the 2024/25 campaign.
