After completing a deal for Vincent Kompany, Bayern Munich will turn their attention to transfers. The Bavarian club reportedly wants to conclude the majority of their transfer business by the end of the European championship. They want to make at least five signings this summer.
Die Roten are keeping a close eye on several left-backs in the transfer market since Alphonso Davies may leave Bavaria. Vincent Kompany wants clarity regarding the future of Davies to allow the Bavarian club to accelerate their transfer plans.
AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez is the top target for Die Roten to replace Davies. The Canadian full-back has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, but the Spanish club is yet to open talks with Bayern. The Bavarian club is also keeping tabs on the situation of one versatile Premier League full-back.
According to The Daily Mirror, Bayern are closely monitoring the situation of Oleksandr Zinchenko at Arsenal. The Ukrainian left-back’s future in Bavaria is far from certain. It remains to be seen if Die Roten will test Arsenal’s resolve by making a bid for the former Manchester City defender.
Zinchenko excelled in the left-back position for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. He is excellent in possession and more than a capable defender. Mikel Arteta has also used him in the same position at Arsenal. He can successfully drop into midfield as an inverted left-back. Moreover, Zinchenko can also exclusively play as a midfielder. He plays in the center of the park for Ukraine.
Zinchenko has two years left on his contract at Arsenal. The Premier League runners-up are yet to open contract talks with the 27-year-old defender. He can be a feasible option for Die Roten if they spend heavily on other positions.
The record Bundesliga champions have also heavily scouted Girona’s Miguel Guiterrez. The Spanish left-back has been in fine form for Girona this season. Real Madrid have a buy-back clause option for Guiterrez. If the Spanish club exercises the clause, Guiterrez will be an expensive option for Bayern.
In an ideal scenario, Bayern will hope to see Davies accept their final contract offer. The Canadian’s form dipped during the second half of the season, but he has been consistent for Die Roten in the last three seasons. Bayern should be confident about Davies rediscovering his form next season since he is only 23. A long-term deal this summer will ensure Davies will be Die Roten’s first-choice left-back for the next five years.
