Bayern Munich have at least two good options in every position. They have a deep squad, which has been troubled with injuries in recent weeks. However, injury concerns will ease up during the winter break. Courtesy of good options in every position for the rest of the season, Bayern will not make new signings in January.
Even though new signings are ruled out by Bayern chiefs, there will be interest in several Bayern players when the transfer window opens in the new year. According to L’Equipe and Foot Mercato, Olympique Marseille are interested in signing Sacha Boey from Bayern during the winter transfer window.
The French club has been keenly following Boey for a long time. However, Bayern had beaten a host of clubs for Boey’s signature from Galatasaray during the last winter transfer window.
While Marseille’s interest looks concrete in Boey, the French full-back has no plans to leave Munich. The 24-year-old defender is eager to prove himself at Bayern after enduring a frustrating spell on the sidelines during his first year in Munich. His agent has also insisted that Bayern also wants to keep Boey. The French right-back feels completely settled in Munich.
Boey should look to cement a spot in the starting XI during Ruckrunde
Vincent Kompany has faith in Boey despite his injury-riddled start to life in Munich. The Belgian coach wanted to sign Boey at Burnley. At the start of the season, the French defender was expected to be Bayern’s first-choice right-back. However, another injury in September ruled him out for a couple of months.
Die Roten have carefully handled Boey’s return. He has been eased back into the action by Kompany. Boey came on against Borussia Dortmund last weekend in the second half and delivered an impressive performance. He didn’t start against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday, but a place in the starting XI is around the corner for the French full-back.
Konrad Laimer and Raphaël Guerreiro have done a fine job in the right-back position during the last couple of months, but a natural right-back will improve the team defensively and offensively. Boey has ideal conditions at Bayern to succeed, with the head coach having total faith in him.
Boey will compete with Josip Stanišić for the right-back position at Bayern. The two players should get an ample amount of game time in the second half of the season. Boey should ideally cement a place in the starting XI, which will eventually help him in fulfilling his dream of getting a call-up for the French national team.
