Bayern Munich are not planning significant sales in the summer. The record Bundesliga champions want to keep hold off their star players. However, the Bavarian club’s stance is unlikely to deter other rivals from exploring moves for their key players.
Michael Olise is one of the players at Bayern who is non-transferable in the summer. The French forward has been exceptional and consistent for Die Roten since arriving from Crystal Palace in 2024. His incredible output in the final third has grabbed the attention of other big European clubs.
According to Sky Sports in Germany, Olise is the dream transfer target for Liverpool to strengthen their attack. The French forward would ideally be Liverpool’s first-choice forward to replace Mohamed Salah.
Even though Liverpool’s interest is concrete, there is next to no chance for the transfer to materialize in the upcoming transfer window. Bayern do not want to lose one of their players, while Olise is also content with life in Munich.
Bayern chiefs have previously dismissed reports suggesting that there is a release clause in Olise’s contract. The French forward is expected to get a new deal sooner rather than later as Die Roten consider him part of their long-term plans. It would take an extraordinary offer or circumstance for Bayern to consider selling Olise in the next two to three years.
Olise has been in sensational form this season, scoring 13 goals and providing 20 assists across all competitions. There is a good chance he may get closer to 50 goal contributions for this season. It is fair to say he is one of the best wide players in the world at this point.
Liverpool will compete with Bayern for another Bundesliga star
The last summer transfer window saw Liverpool deliver a crushing blow to Bayern’s long-term transfer plans. The Merseyside club won the race to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, who was Bayern’s top target last summer. Die Roten ended up signing Luis Diaz from Liverpool to strengthen their attack. The Bavarian club will be pleased with their business as Diaz has been one of the best signings in Europe this season.
The two clubs will come face-to-face for another young attacking player. As per Sky Sports in Germany, Liverpool’s alternative target to strengthen attack is Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig. Bayern also have a concrete interest in Diomande, but Leipzig’s transfer demands may make it economically difficult for them to pursue the transfer.
Manchester United are also reportedly interested in Diomande. Bayern are not front-runners for the Ivory Coast winger, but things can change very quickly in the summer.
