The attacking department at Bayern Munich is set to witness a few big changes this summer. The Bavarian club has agreed to a deal with Liverpool to sign Sadio Mane. The Senegalese striker will improve the forward line after enjoying six successful years at Merseyside. He is expected to arrive in Bavaria next week to complete the transfer.

Meanwhile, Robert Lewandowski could bring an end to his time at Bayern. After winning every possible trophy with Die Roten in the last eight seasons, the Polish striker wants to leave and join FC Barcelona. The Bavarian club is bracing for a second bid from the Spanish club in the next few days.

Another possible departure in the forward department at Die Roten is that of Joshua Zirkzee. The Dutch forward will return to the club this summer after a productive loan spell at Anderlecht. Joshua Zirkzee is expected to leave Bayern permanently this summer, but he may have to wait longer for a transfer.

According to Sport1, Bayern’s Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic wants Zirkzee to be given a chance to impress during pre-season. With the departure of Lewandowski looking likely, there is a window for Zirkzee to get a chance to shine at Die Roten.

The Dutch forward is in no mood to compromise playing time next season after his successful loan spell at Anderlecht. He has hinted at a departure from Die Roten this summer to get adequate playing time at some other club. However, it looks like Zirkzee’s future may not be decided anytime soon.

Ajax and West Ham United have shown interest in signing Zirkzee, while VfB Stuttgart could make a move for him if Sasa Kalajdzic leaves in this transfer window. Kalajdzic has been linked with a move to Bayern. There have been few suggestions in German media hinting at Bayern proposing a swap deal involving Zirkzee to sign Kalajdzic.

Joshua Zirkzee was not part of the Dutch squad during the international break at the start of June. If he wants to break into the national team for the World Cup, he will need to play regularly in the first half of next season. He will be hoping that Bayern provides clarity around his future sooner rather than later.

Meanwhile, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is not leaving Bayern this summer. His agent has rubbished reports linking Choupo-Moting with a move away from Bavaria. The Cameroon international could get a good amount of playing time next season if Lewandowski ends up joining Barcelona.
