Bayern Munich ready to move three fringe players this summer
The transfer window is heating up in Bavaria as Bayern Munich clinched their second signing of the summer. Ryan Gravenberch was at Sabner Strasse over the weekend to put final touches on his move to Die Roten. The Bavarian club remains keen on adding more new faces to the first team, while there could be numerous departures too.
Bayern is actively looking to find new clubs for fringe players of the squad. These players need consistent playing time next season, while Die Roten needs money from their sales to boost the transfer budget. As things stand, Bayern is looking to listen to offers for three players in the first-team squad.
According to Kicker (via iMiaSanMia), the German Champions want to part ways with Marc Roca, Omar Richards, and Bouna Sarr in the coming weeks. The trio struggled for game time last season, so a move away from Bavaria will be the desired outcome for all parties.
The Athletic UK reported last week that Leeds United is interested in signing Roca to bolster their midfield department. The English club will have to pay £10 million to sign Roca from Bayern. Apart from Leeds, Frankfurt, Roma, and Real Betis have shown interest in Roca. The Spaniard has also been loosely linked with FC Barcelona.
Roca had a very good spell in the starting XI at Bayern before the winter break, but the return of other midfielders from injuries limited his game time during Ruckrunde. With the addition of Gravenberch, the competition in the midfield department at Bayern will be even more intense. The Spaniard will be better served by clinching a move before the pre-season.
Meanwhile, Die Roten has been trying to offload Bouna Sarr for the past two transfer windows. The Senegalese right-back is not in Nagelsmann’s plans at Bayern. He has been linked with a return to Marseille, but it remains to be seen what fee the French club is ready to bring him back.
Omar Richards has been linked with a move to VfB Stuttgart. The English left-back has not played as much as he would have liked since arriving from Reading in the last summer transfer window. Die Roten will have to sign another left-back before parting ways with Richards.

Apart from listening to offers for these three players, Die Roten may also sanction the departures of Joshua Zirkzee and Chris Richards. The two young players enjoyed very productive loan spells last season, so various clubs will be open to paying a good fee for him. The biggest departure from Bayern this summer is likely to be Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker is pushing for a move to Barcelona. With the international break coming to an end this week, transfer activity at Bayern is likely to pick up the pace before the start of pre-season in July.
