The summer transfer window will see some radical changes in the midfield department at Bayern Munich. There will be at most two departures in this area when the window opens at the end of June. The Bavarian club had already parted ways with Mickael Cuisance in January.

Marc Roca is one of the prime candidates in the midfield department to leave in the summer. The Spanish midfielder needs to move away from Bavaria to get consistent playing time. The latest update from Spain suggests that groundwork is laid down for bringing Roca back to La Liga in the summer.

According to Canal Sur Radio (via iMiaSanMia), Real Betis has stepped up efforts to sign Roca from Die Roten. The La Liga club has presented an offer of a loan with an obligation to buy the Spanish midfielder. The loan fee mentioned by the media outlet is €1.5 million, while the transfer fee for the permanent move is €7 million.

Real Betis was linked with a move for Marc Roca before the mid-season transfer window. The Spaniard was struggling for playing time under Julian Naglesmann until the final few games of Hinrunde. In the absence of several senior midfielders, Roca finally started a few games in the Bundesliga.

The Spanish midfielder was praised by Nagelsmann for his performances at the end of Hinrunde. Roca decided against a transfer during January in the hope of getting more playing time in the second half of the season. Things have not gone as per plan for the Spaniard as Nagelsmann has not adequately rotated in the center of the park.

Roca arrived in Bavaria at the end of the summer transfer window in 2020. He has struggled to establish himself in the starting XI during the last 18 months. The Spaniard has always been positive despite the lack of playing time, but a move in the summer is needed for him to kickstart his career.

Die Roten will try to recoup most of the transfer fee paid for Roca. Along with Real Betis, Roca has been previously linked with Eintracht Frankfurt. A normal loan move to a Bundesliga club can give Roca some hope to fulfill his potential in the Bundesliga. If he manages to impress during the loan tenure, then Rekordmeister may end up playing him more during the 2023/24 campaign.

Along with Marc Roca, Corentin Tolisso is also expected to leave Die Roten in the summer transfer window. The French midfielder is out of contract in the summer. Meanwhile, Bayern is working on completing a deal to bring Ryan Gravenberch from Ajax to bolster the midfield department.
