Marc Roca joined Bayern in October 2020 from Spanish club Espanyol on a five-year contract. The Spaniard was considered to be a future talent for Bayern Munich. The German club tried to sign him in 2019 but eventually succeeded in reaching an agreement with Espanyol in 2020. Roca endured a difficult debut campaign as he adapted to a new country and league.

After a frustrating debut season with the Bavarian side, things have hardly changed for Marc Roca during his second season in Bavaria. The Spaniard has been struggling to get opportunities to show his talent in the first team. He has only managed to make 13 appearances across all competitions for Die Roten this season, in which the majority were as a substitute off the bench.

The Spaniard has always been positive about the difficult situation at Bayern. He has delivered impressive performances in the last few games for Die Roten. However, the return of experienced midfielder Joshua Kimmich has made sure that Roca’s opportunities have been limited. There are several senior midfielders ahead of him in the pecking order, which has limited his game time with the team.

Marc Roca should be eyeing more playing time from next season as he is set to enter the prime years of his career. Another season on the bench at Bavaria will further stall his career. In an ideal scenario for Roca, a transfer away from Bayern Munich in the upcoming summer transfer window will serve him well.
