The summer transfer window is just a few months away, so clubs have started outlining transfer plans. Bayern Munich has already been linked with numerous players as they identify three areas to address in the summer. Similarly, there is also interest in Die Roten’s players from other top clubs in Europe.

According to Tuttosport (via calciomercato), Juventus is interested in signing Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting when the transfer window opens in the summer. The Italian club wants Bayern striker as a backup for Dusan Vlahovic as Moise Kean is expected to leave at the end of the season.

Choupo-Moting’s current deal in Bavaria is set to expire in 2023. He has been a decent signing for Rekordmeister since arriving on a free transfer in 2020. The 32-year-old striker has managed to score 18 goals in 47 appearances for Rekordmeister in 18 months. The Bavarian club decided to extend his deal after a productive debut season.

The Cameroon international has expressed his satisfaction to work at Bayern, so it will take a very attractive offer from Juventus to prise him away from Bavaria. Die Roten will also be reluctant to part ways with the veteran forward since finding a backup forward for Robert Lewandowski is a big headache.

Unless Die Roten plans to re-integrate Joshua Zirkzee back in the first team, selling Choupo-Moting doesn’t make sense. Zirkzee is enjoying a productive loan spell at Club Brugges. The Dutch striker wants to fulfill his potential at Die Roten, but he will need consistent playing time from next season.

In the presence of Lewandowski, it is difficult for any striker to get consistent playing time. Choupo-Moting is ready to play the squad role, which Zirkzee may not prefer at this stage of this career. Juventus will have to come up with a very good offer to change Die Roten’s mind about Choupo-Moting in the summer.

Juventus to compete with Bayern for Gravenberch

Apart from showing interest in Choupo-Moting, Juventus is also going to compete with Rekordmeister for the signing of Ryan Gravenberch from Ajax. According to Italian journalist Giovanni Albanese (via GIFN), Juventus has already held talks with Gravenberch regarding a summer move.

Bayern has been heavily linked with Gravenberch in the last few days. The Dutch midfielder’s contract expires in 2023, so Ajax will be looking to cash in during the summer transfer window. Mino Raiola, Gravenberch’s agent, has worked a lot with Juventus on various transfers. The presence of Raiola in negotiations for Gravenberch can give Juventus an edge over Die Roten.
