The process of contract renewals of several key players at Bayern Munich will continue until the end of the season. Die Roten is looking to secure the future of several players before summer to outline their transfer plans for next season.
Corentin Tolisso is one of the two players in the senior team that can leave Bavaria in the summer on a free transfer. The French midfielder has already attracted a lot of interest from various top clubs in Europe. Real Madrid is the latest club to show interest in the former Lyon midfielder.
At the start of the season, it looked certain that Tolisso would leave Die Roten on a free transfer. However, there has been a significant change in heart for the club and player. Tolisso is reportedly open to saying at Rekordmeister beyond the current season.
Before the game against RB Leipzig, Bayern also responded to recent reports about renewal for Corentin Tolisso. While talking to Sky Sports, club president Oliver Kahn confirmed that talks have started with Tolisso for a contract extension.
"“We’re in talks. It always takes both parties to make it fit in the end.”"
The consistent injury problems for Corentin Tolisso are likely to be the reason for Die Roten to open the contract talks in the final stretch of his current deal. The French midfielder has been in fine form under Julian Nagelsmann. Few reports in Germany have suggested that the German coach wants to keep Tolisso in the squad beyond the current campaign.
Corentin Tolisso thrives in a box-to-box midfield role. His late runs in the box help him in scoring some important goals. There is no doubt about Tolisso’s qualities in the center of the park. His poor luck with injuries in the past couple of seasons is the only concern, but the club doesn’t seem to be worried about it for now.
If Tolisso ends up staying, then the summer transfer plans for Rekordmeister will likely involve only one midfielder. There are doubts about Marc Roca’s future in Bavaria. The Spaniard could leave in the summer window if he doesn’t get consistent playing time during the next three months.
Apart from Tolisso, Rekordmeister will be looking to extend contracts of Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller, Serge Gnabry, and Manuel Neuer before the end of the season. The Bavarian club has already extended deals of Kingsley Coman, Joshua Kimmich, and Leon Goretzka in the last six months. They did fail to convince Niklas Sule for a new deal. The German defender will be leaving in the summer on a free transfer.
