The next summer transfer window is crucial for plans in central midfield at Bayern Munich. The Bavarian club is expected to part ways with Corentin Tolisso, while the likes of Marc Roca and Mickael Cuisance are also likely to leave for consistent playing time. In such a scenario, a couple of midfielders could arrive in Bavaria.

Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara could be one of the new midfield arrivals in Bavaria next summer. The French midfielder has been keenly followed by the German club, but the latest reports suggest that his signing will not be straightforward for them.

According to Fussball Transfers, Barcelona and Manchester United are also showing interest in the French midfielder. Meanwhile, the Athletic in the UK is also reporting that United and one of the traditional top four clubs in England are also showing interest in Kamara. The English media outlet also confirms Bayern’s interest in the French midfielder. Kamara came close to leaving Marseille last summer, but he eventually rejected moves to Newcastle and Wolverhampton Rovers.

One thing is certain from these reports that Kamara is not planning to sign a contract extension with Marseille. The 22-year-old versatile midfielder can negotiate with interesting clubs in January since he will have less than six months on his current deal at Marseille.

Kamara will be a smart pickup for the majority of top clubs in Europe. He primarily operates as a defensive midfielder, but he has also been used as a center-back. Going forward, he is most likely to become an all-action defensive midfielder that can break up play and use his expansive passing range to dictate the tempo of the game.

Die Roten certainly needs a midfielder of his mould if Roca is leaving next summer. Kamara can deputise Kamara in the number six position and provide more depth in this position. His presence could also allow Julian Nagelsmann to use Kimmich in a box-to-box midfield role.

From Kamara’s point of view, he will be looking to get consistent playing time at his next club. Bayern may not promise him a starting role right now, but in the long run, Kamara can become a crucial part of the squad.

Rekordmeister should try to reach a pre-contract agreement with Kamara in January if the interest from the club is real. The longer they wait, the more top clubs are likely to join the race for the promising French midfielder.
