The next summer transfer window for Bayern Munich is likely to be crucial in the attacking department. The German Champions were linked with a few forwards last summer, but they eventually didn’t sign one. However, things could significantly change next summer with the departure of Kingsley Coman.

The French international will have only one year left on his contract next summer. Coman and Die Roten reached an impasse in talks for a new contract during last summer’s transfer window. As of now, Bayern will reportedly look to cash in next year to avoid losing Coman for nothing. One possible destination for Coman could be Catalonia.

According to Sport, Barcelona’s new incoming manager Xavi Hernandez is a big fan of Kingsley Coman. The former Spanish midfielder could try to sign Coman if he gets the job at Barcelona. Xavi is expected to take over the head coach role at Barcelona after the club parted ways with Ronald Koeman this week.

The Spanish media outlet also suggests that Die Roten will be looking for a fee close to €55 million for Coman next summer. The Bavarian club reportedly wanted €100 million last summer. With only one year left on his contract next summer, Rekordmeister will have to half their transfer fee demands.

Barcelona is likely to face competition from Premier League clubs next summer. Coman has been previously linked with Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool. Die Roten will be hoping for a bidding war to get a big fee for Coman.

It remains to be seen whether Barcelona will be able to pay the money for Coman as they are currently struggling financially. Die Roten has been reportedly keeping a close eye on the Spanish club’s situation with a view to signing players from their squad. A swap deal could be a solution that satisfies all parties, but Barcelona will have to bring a top player to the negotiation table.

It will be a shame that Bayern will lose Coman next summer. After frustrating spells on the sidelines due to injuries across multiple seasons, Coman finally started becoming a consistent winger in the past 18-20 months. With the peak of his career ahead of him, Coman is likely to get better with time.

Die Roten will be losing Coman at the wrong time. However, they cannot afford to lose a winger of his quality on a free transfer. The German club will have no option but to get a good transfer fee next summer.

Bayern is reportedly working on contingency plans to replace Coman. Karim Adeyemi has emerged as the top target to replace Coman. However, there are numerous top clubs interested in the German winger. Adeyemi’s agents have already held talks with Die Roten, but they are also meeting other clubs across Europe.
