In the early months of the new season, things are quite clear about transfer plans for Bayern Munich. One German report in the summer suggested that the club is looking for German talent to strengthen the core of the squad. Karim Adeyemi has been heavily linked with a move to Bavaria. These reports are not a surprise that he fits the profile of players the club reportedly wants.

Adeyemi previously had a short stint in Bavaria during his young days. The defending Bundesliga Champions were reportedly ready to accelerate the move for him and strike a deal with RB Salzburg in January. However, Die Roten may not get their wish in two months’ time.

While talking to Sky Sports (via iMiaSanMia), RB Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund ruled out parting ways with Adeyemi during the winter transfer window. He also insisted that the youngster wants to play at Salzburg until the end of the window.

Die Roten will be facing a lot of competition from fellow Bundesliga clubs and European clubs for the signature of Adeyemi in the summer. Along with Die Roten, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund have already held talks with Adeyemi’s representatives. Liverpool is also reportedly showing interest in the young forward.

Adeyemi has been in sensational form for Salzburg this season. If he consistently keeps scoring goals, then the Austrian club could end up getting a much big fee in summer than the winter window. Moreover, Adeyemi will keep getting consistent playing time to continue the upward trajectory in his development.

Die Roten did clinch a few signings lately after the end of the winter window. They reached a personal agreement with Dayot Upamecano in February, while Lucas Hernandez was signed from Atletico Madrid in April 2019 before the end of the season. If Bayern can find a way to reach an early agreement with Salzburg, then they can avoid a bidding war for Adeyemi.

The defending Bundesliga champions reportedly see Adeyemi as part of their contingency plans to replace Kingsley Coman next summer. The French winger has less than two years left on his contract. With no signs of talks resuming with Coman, Die Roten will be looking to cash in next summer.

The race for Adeyemi will get intense as the season progresses. Die Roten will not be able to accelerate this deal in the winter window, but the Bavarian club will most likely do everything possible to get the exciting German talent to Allianz Arena.
