Bayern Munich agree new deal with Joshua Kimmich
The last 12 months have been difficult for Bayern Munich while discussing new deals with key players. However, the German Champions have found a big breakthrough in negotiations this week with one of the prominent midfielders in the squad.
According to SportBild, Bayern has reached an agreement with Joshua Kimmich for a contract until 2026. The German midfielder has been locked in negotiations for months before reaching an agreement this week. Kimmich is expected to get significant raise in wages from the previous deal.
Kimmich had previously dropped the agent to directly negotiate with the German Champions for a new contract. He had two years left on the previous deal, so getting him to put pen on paper this summer is significant business concluded by the club.
After excelling in the right-back position for a couple of seasons, Joshua Kimmich moved in the midfield two years ago. The arrival of Benjamin Pavard allowed Kimmich to consistently play in the center of the park. The German international justified his wish to play in his favoured role by establishing himself as one of the best midfielders in Europe.

Along with his tremendous quality on the pitch, Kimmich is also becoming a leader in the dressing room. He is part of the leadership group along with other senior players. The German midfielder wears his heart on the sleeve and leads by an example with his consistent performances.
Joshua Kimmich can walk into the midfield of all top European teams. With peak years of career ahead of him, Die Roten has done remarkably well to sort out his new deal before the start of the season. The past couple of seasons have been dominated by persistent contract speculation surrounding the future of key senior players.
Die Roten still has a lot of work to do regarding new contracts. Leon Goretzka, Kimmich’s midfield partner, should be in line for a new deal. Goretzka has entered the final 12 months of his contract at the club. However, Julian Nagelsmann and Die Roten are confident that Goretzka will sign a new deal despite interest from Manchester United.
Rekordmeister is also trying to find an agreement with Kingsley Coman. The Frenchman is reportedly unhappy with the deal offered by the club. With two years left on Coman’s deal, Die Roten will be looking to find a breakthrough in talks during next season. The renewal of Kimmich will be the best possible news for the Bavarian faithful this summer due to the importance of the player in the squad.
