Bayern Munich: Chelsea exploring swap deal to sign Kingsley Coman
Bayern Munich has to sort the future of key senior players this summer. Kingsley Coman is one of these players that have been in talks with the club regarding a contract extension. Over the summer, talks have not moved positively, with Coman reportedly disappointed with the club’s offer.
The reported impasse in contract talks for Coman has sparked interest from various clubs in Europe. Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool have been linked with the French winger. Die Roten has reportedly slapped a price tag of €100 million on the winger.
Manchester United has signed Jadon Sancho, so they are out of contention to sign Coman. Meanwhile, Liverpool is unlikely to afford the transfer demands of Die Roten. L’Equipe in France has the latest update on Chelsea’s interest in Coman.
As per the French media outlet (via GFFN), Chelsea is exploring a swap deal that could see Callum Hudson-Odoi moving to Bavaria with Coman moving in the opposite direction. Thomas Tuchel admires Coman’s qualities and wants to bring him to Stamford Bridge. Hudson-Odoi has not featured frequently under the German manager, so Chelsea could allow him to finally seal a move to Die Roten.

This report also had details about the contract talks with Coman and Rekordmeister. The French winger currently earns a gross salary of €9 million per year. He wants parity with the wages of Leroy Sane, which is close to €18 million per year. However, Rekordmeister is ready to offer only €13 million to Coman. The French international had added Pini Zahavi to his entourage, so contract talks are going to be complex for Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, Hudson-Odoi has been a long-term target for Bayern. The German club has tried to sign him in three different transfer windows. If this report is true, then they could get the long-term target, but losing Coman will be a massive loss.
Kingsley Coman has shown great improvement in the last 18 months. The French winger is a much more dangerous wide player after improving his decision-making in the final third. Die Roten needs a wide player this summer, but not at the expense of Coman. The Frenchman is entering the final two years of his contract, so this summer is the last chance for getting a big fee if he doesn’t pen a new deal. It will be intriguing to see how the new hierarchy at the club approaches this situation. Since the finances of the club are so severely affected, it will be a big surprise if Coman leaves this summer. If Chelsea manages to offer money as well as Hudson-Odoi, then things may get interesting.
Tolisso continues to attract interest from Italy
Apart from Coman, L’Equipe (via GFFN) has also offered an update on the situation of Corentin Tolisso. Napoli and Inter Milan are interested in Tolisso, while Die Roten is looking for a fee close to €20 million for a player that has one year left on his contract.
The French midfielder is one of the five players that the club is looking to cash in this summer. Juventus and Napoli are interested in the box-to-box midfielder, while Inter Milan has been previously credited with an interest in the player. Tolisso’s situation could be sorted once he returns from holiday.
