Improving the attacking options is reportedly on the agenda for Bayern Munich this summer. The German Champions have been linked with Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi, while Dutch media has suggested that early contact has been established between Die Roten and agents of PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo.

While the club has been linked with these two young players, head coach Julian Nagelsmann is keen on two young stars that have shone in Euro 2020. According to Sky Sports in Germany, Nagelsmann is interested in bringing Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig to Bavaria. The German manager also holds an interest in Juventus forward Federico Chiesa.

Despite Nagelsmann’s interest in both forwards, it is unrealistic for Rekordmeister to sign even one player this summer. RB Leipzig will be demanding a significant fee for Olmo. Sky Sports also confirms that Olmo has a release clause worth €80 million in his current contract in Leipzig.

Meanwhile, Federico Chiesa is a crucial player for Juventus. The former Italian Champions consider Chiesa center to the project under Massimiliano Allegri. The relations between Juventus and Die Roten are strong since they have done a lot of business between them over the past few years. However, Juventus are unlikely to entertain offers for Chiesa.

More from Bayern Strikes

Chiesa has been a pivotal player for Italy in Euro 2020. On the way to the final of the tournament, Chiesa scored crucial knockout goals against Austria and Spain. His direct style of play gives a cutting edge in the final third for Italy and Juventus. The young forward is considered one of the biggest talents in Italy.

Meanwhile, Olmo shone for Spain during Euro 2020. The Spaniard has done well for RB Leipzig since joining the club from Dinamo Zagreb at the start of 2020. Olmo is a versatile forward that can also play as an attacking midfielder. Nagelsmann has worked with Olmo for 18 months during his stint in Leipzig.

Both players will significantly improve Die Roten’s attack. However, the German club is currently not in a state to pay a big fee for them. The German Champions have consistently insisted that there will be no big money signings after the arrival of Dayot Upamecano from Leipzig. Moreover, Rekordmeister also paid a record fee to sign Nagelsmann.

Bayern will have to be creative in the market to sign a quality winger this summer. Loan deals with an option to buy next summer could be a way to improve the squad. Things will become more clear by the end of July as Die Roten will look to raise funds through departures and add quality to the first team.
