Bayern Munich consider making a bid for Callum Hudson-Odoi
Bayern Munich has identified two key positions to address in the summer window if the latest reports from German media are to be believed. The German champions want to add depth in the right-back position and bring a wide player after the departure of Douglas Costa.
After German media insisted that Die Roten could reignite interest in Callum Hudson-Odoi, the English media outlets are also backing the club’s interest in young English winger. According to The Times, Bayern is considering a bid for Hudson-Odoi as the summer transfer window officially opens next week.
The report in Times insists that Chelsea is also interested in the English winger. Meanwhile, The Daily Telegraph is reported that Chelsea is open to listening to offers for Tammy Abraham, but the London-based club is reluctant to part ways with Hudson-Odoi.
The young English winger has been a transfer target for Die Roten three summers in a row. The German Champions reportedly made three to four offers for Hudson-Odoi in 2019. However, Chelsea stood firm and eventually extended his contract.

After a fairly average season under Frank Lampard and the arrival of new wide players at the club, Rekordmeister explored a deal during last summer window. The English club eventually rejected Die Roten’s loan offer that also included an option to buy.
Hudson-Odoi has previously tried to force a move to Bavaria. There is a possibility that he can once again try to seal a transfer in summer. Since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival, Hudson-Odoi has not been playing frequently. During the Champions League win against Manchester City, Hudson-Odoi was an unused substitute. Chelsea’s summer plans may also impact the future of Hudson-Odoi at the club. If he moves to Bavaria, then Hudson-Odoi is likely to get more game time since the current squad has only three natural wingers.
The 20-year-old winger currently has three years on his current contract at Chelsea. In such a scenario, Die Roten may have to pay a big fee to complete this transfer. It will be intriguing to see if Rekordmeister will explore a loan deal with an option to buy once again this summer.
Hasan Salihamidzic has been consistently trying to sign Hudson-Odoi in the last three years. It does feel like that this summer could be the last time Die Roten will reignite interest in the player. The young forward will undoubtedly improve the squad as he has shown in the Premier League in the last two seasons.
