The future of Kingsley Coman has dominated the summer for Bayern Munich until now. The talks regarding the new deal with the Frenchman have been complicated, with few reports suggesting that Coman is unhappy at the club and wants to leave this summer.

Rekordmeister has reportedly slapped a price of €100 million on Coman. Premier League clubs Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United have been linked with a move for the French winger. The Merseyside club reportedly has a strong interest in Coman, but the latest update from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano suggests that the French winger will not head to the North West of England.

While talking to Anfield Watch, Romano admitted that Liverpool would not be able to meet the transfer fee demanded by Die Roten for Coman. The Italian journalist insisted that Rekordmeister is looking for a fee close to €90 million to part ways for Coman.

Chelsea could be in the mix for Coman since the London-based club has spent big on various attacking players over the years. Meanwhile, Manchester United are definitely out of the race since they have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for Jadon Sancho.

More from Bayern Strikes

Unless there is a dramatic sequence of events in the next two months, Kingsley Coman will be playing in Bavarian colours next season. The Frenchman is expected to report for pre-season training at Sabner Strasse at the end of July.

Earlier this week, Die Roten’s new CEO Oliver Kahn expressed confidence about extending deals of Kingsley Coman and Leon Goretzka. The German midfielder is likely to be the priority since he has 12 months left on his contract. Meanwhile, Coman’s contract expires in 2023, giving the German Champions more time for negotiations.

Coman has become a pivotal player in the first team during the last 12 months. His decision-making in the final third has significantly improved. The Frenchman also comes up with goals and assists in decisive games. Coman was probably the best wide player for Die Roten in the Bundesliga last season.

Rekordmeister can fend away interest from other clubs this summer, but there will be no leverage to demand a similar fee next year. Coman will be entering the final year of the deal, so the next season will be a decisive period regarding his long-term future in Bavaria. The German Champions will have to come up with a contract offer that will satisfy Coman and doesn’t disrupt the wage bill at the club.
