It was a European spectacle when Italy faced Belgium at Allianz Arena on Friday. The Italians managed to clinch a narrow 2-1 win against Belgians, but it was a well-contested battle between two great teams. For Belgium, Jeremy Doku was the standout player in the home stadium of Bayern Munich.

Doku dominated the duel against Giovanni De Lorenzo on the right flank. The 19-year-old winger made the most out of the rare start he got for Belgium due to an injury to Eden Hazard. Doku will be attracting a lot of interest. Bayern is one of the top clubs that have scouted Doku.

According to SportBild’s Christian Falk, Rekordmeister has been scouting Doku. As of now, Falk insists that Die Roten has not made their interest concrete in the player. The young winger from Rennes will be expected to take the next step in his development next season.

Doku started 26 Ligue 1 games for Rennes last season. The French club didn’t qualify for Europe, but Doku was one of the shining lights in a disappointing campaign. Even though Doku did have a decent season, the young Belgian winger will be looking to improve his productivity next season as he managed two goals and three assists in the league last season. More from Bayern Strikes

Rekordmeister currently needs one more winger in the squad after Douglas Costa left the club. The Brazilian winger had arrived on a dry loan at the end of last summer’s transfer window. The German Champions reverted to the signing of Costa after failed attempts to bring Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea.

Doku could definitely fill the void of the fourth winger at Die Roten. He provides the x-factor in the final third due to his incredible pace and trickery. As long as the transfer fee is within their financial limits, Die Roten should not hesitate in exploring the idea of signing Doku this summer.

From the player’s perspective, staying at Rennes would be a much better option. The French champions will be offering more consistent game time for Doku to polish the rough edges of his game. Moreover, Doku will also start regularly in the Champions League next season.

Doku is the type of signing that could keep fans on the edge of the seat as he did at Allianz Arena on Friday. The German Champions should be exploring such signings this summer since big-money arrivals have been ruled out by the club hierarchy. With Kingsley Coman’s future in doubt, wide position may soon become a key area to address for Rekordmeister in the future.
