Bayern Munich will be looking to retain their seven-point advantage at the top of the Bundesliga table on Saturday. After a massive away win over RB Leipzig on Matchday 27, Die Roten is moving closer to clinching another Bundesliga title.

Union Berlin will visit the Allianz Arena for Saturday’s match. The club from Germany’s capital city earned a point when they hosted Rekordmeister back in December. With Union Berlin in need of points to stay in the hunt for a European place, they should offer a stern test for Bayern at home. Here are three things to watch for ahead of Saturday’s match.

Bayern begin challenging schedule schedule

The next three matches in the Bundesliga for Die Roten will be against clubs in the top half of the table. After playing seventh place Union Berlin on Saturday, they will have to face third-place Wolfsburg and sixth place Bayer Leverkusen. This could be a tricky potion of the schedule for Die Roten as they will be tested by opponents who are amidst a battle for the remaining European places.

For this reason, it will be important that Rekordmeitser get off to a good start to this difficult three-match stretch of the season with a victory against Union Berlin. They can’t afford to drop too many points in these three matches as it could allow Leipzig to remain within striking distance of taking over first place.

More from Bayern Strikes

Kruse looks to continue goal scoring form

Max Kruse has been leading the way for Union Berlin when it comes to scoring goals. The 33-year-old has been in fantastic form as of late with four goals scored in his last five appearances.

Kruse did not play against Die Roten when the clubs first met earlier this season but he will certainly be in the lineup for Saturday’s fixture. He will be a player Bayern’s defense will have to keep a close eye on as they do not want to give him too many opportunities to make an impact.

Can Choupo-Moting provide more goals?

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday to record his third UEFA Champions League goal of the season. So far, the striker has done quite well to fill in for the injured Robert Lewandowski.

Against Union Berlin, he will have the opportunity to continue to be impactful and possibly help guide Bayern to a victory at home. Choupo-Moting has just one goal in 17 Bundesliga appearances this season but there’s reason to believe based on recent performances that he can deliver goals in the coming fixtures.
