Bayern Munich eyeing move for another young player from Championship
Bayern Munich has been looking to capitalize on the array of bright young talent coming through in the Premier League and Championship. They tried hard to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea in the last two years. The German Champions have also reportedly clinched the signing of Omar Richards from Reading FC.
According to Team Talk, Rekordmeister is now interested in signing Michael Olise from Reading. The young attacking midfielder has been one of the best-attacking midfielders in the Championship this season. The French midfielder has been linked with various Premier League clubs throughout the season.
Olise’s contractual situation at Reading is different from Richards. His contract at the English club expires next summer. If the youngster is reluctant to sign a new contract, then Reading might be forced to listen to offers for him in summer.
The French attacking midfielder has enjoyed a prolific campaign with Reading until now. He currently has five goals and ten assists to his name in the Championship. Olise has been also used on the flank by Reading this season, so he can act as a versatile forward instead of just being limited to a number ten.

Compared to Richards, Olise would be better served by getting an intermediate move now before joining a big club like Bayern. He is a talented attacking player, but the competition for places in the first team in Bavaria is fierce. The French midfielder will have to largely play in the reserves if he decides to join Die Roten in the summer.
This rumour might not have legs, but it does match the direction the club has been following in the transfer during the last few seasons. Along with signing the obvious names in the market, they have been aggressively looking for young talents that are financially feasible and help them in achieving long-term success.
Considering the way the transfer market has been moving towards inflation, it is necessary that Die Roten improves the scouting system to find players before their counterparts. They managed to get a gem on their hands when they signed Alphonso Davies three years ago. He is currently one of the best full-backs in Europe.
The transfer activity for Die Roten in the upcoming window will depend on departures. They might look to get some young starlets to improve youth teams, while the first team could reportedly have four additions. Two transfers are already completed, so it will be intriguing to see which other two players arrive at the expense of few departures.
