Bayern Munich: Top three players from 4-0 win over VfB Stuttgart
By Daniel Garza
Bayern Munich recorded their 19th victory of the Bundesliga season with a 4-0 win over Stuttgart on Matchday 26. The hosts went down to ten men early in the match but it did not phase them as they went on to score four first-half goals to stun Stuttgart.
It was a fantastic performance from Bayern’s attacking players and it ensures Die Roten remains atop the league table entering the March international break. Here are three top three Bayern players from the victory.
Robert Lewandowski
The Man of the Match was without question Lewandowski. His hat-trick performance was the main headline from this fixture and he increased his season goal total to 35. It was yet another remarkable display of goal-scoring ability from the star striker.
Lewandowski has registered four performances this season in the Bundesliga where he has scored three goals or more. With eight matches remaining in the domestic season, it seems like it will only be a matter of time before he breaks Gerd Muller’s record of 40 goals in a single campaign.

Serge Gnabry
Gnabry’s goal and assist helped get Bayern on the right track against Stuttgart. He delivered a great cross to Lewandowski to open the scoring and then he scored a goal of his own to help Die Roten get to a 2-0 lead in a five-minute span.
The Bayern winger continues to refind his goal-scoring form in the second half of the Bundesliga season. He has now scored five goals since the halfway point of the campaign was reached. Gnabry needs just one more goal in the Bundesliga this season to record his fifth consecutive season of ten goals or more in the German top flight. In fact, with eight matches remaining he can still set a career-high of 13 goals in a single Bundesliga season.
Manuel Neuer
Neuer earned his sixth clean sheet of the Bundesliga season. The Bayern goalkeeper recorded four saves in the victory which was the exact number of saves he had when these two clubs first met in November.
Arguably Neuer’s best save of the match was in the 14th minute when he denied Stuttgart’s Sasa Kaladjzic’s header from close range. The Austrian striker is an aerial threat and nearly opened the scoring which could have led to a different storyline in this one had he scored. With this clean sheet performance, Neuer is just one more shutout away from reaching 200 career clean sheets in the Bundesliga.
