Bayern Munich will face Tigres in the FIFA Club World Cup final on Thursday. Die Roten will be looking to claim their second Club World Cup trophy as they won the title in the 2013/14 edition of the competition.

Die Roten’s opponents on Thursday will be representing the CONCACAF region. Tigres is one of Liga MX’s premier clubs and has won numerous titles in Mexico. This match promises to be an exciting final and here are three things to watch for.

Gignac provides test for Bayern backline

Clean sheets are being recorded on a more consistent basis by Bayern in recent weeks. Four of their last five matches in all competitions have ended in shutouts. They will put this impressive recent record to the test against Tigres as they will be tasked with defending Andre-Pierre Gignac.

The French forward has scored three goals so far in the Club World Cup and is the competition’s leading scorer entering this match. This is a player whose goal-scoring ability could cause issues for Bayern. He scored the match-winning goal in the CONCACAF Champions League final that sent Tigres to the Club World Cup and Gignac will certainly be looking to make an impact in Thursday’s match.

More from Bayern Strikes

Kingsley Coman to be the hero again?

Kingsley Coman scored the match-winning goal against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final that allowed Bayern to claim the European title. Since scoring that goal, the French winger has been in terrific form and he enters this match with one goal and two assists in his last four appearances.

After scoring a huge goal in such a massive match, the Bayern winger could very well deliver a crucial goal or assist for Die Roten in the Club World Cup final. The French winger’s form this season does suggest that he can definitely achieve this feat.

Robert Lewandowski looks to deliver another masterclass

Robert Lewandowski was the Man of the Match in the 2-0 victory over Al Ahly in the semifinal. His two goals paved the way to victory. Against Tigres, he can be the Man of the Match once more. After not scoring in the Champions League final, UEFA Super Cup, and DFL-Supercup, he has been on a bit of a scoring drought in recent matches when a trophy is on the line.

The Polish striker can end this streak with a goal against Tigres. As usual, when Lewandowski scores Bayern typically goes on to win the match. If he can find the back of the net then Bayern should be able to win yet another trophy.
